Roy Osborne is a minister who has preached in the Church of Christ for the past 70 years. He is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, where he began his preaching career the week of his seventeenth birthday in 1939. Roy served in the Air Corps in WWII and in the Air Force in the Korean War. He attended David Lipscomb College in Nashville, Abilene Christian College, and Denver University. For seventeen years he preached in the Bay Area of San Francisco during which time he did his graduate work at the University of California in Berkeley and taught at San Quentin Prison for six years. Moving to San Antonio, Texas in 1970 he preached for the Sunset Ridge Church for 21 years, retiring in 1991. However, he still teaches a class there each week and the lessons and essays on this web-site are those he is currently teaching. Roy was married in 1947 to Dene Potts of Nashville and has four children, nine grandchildren and 12 great -grandchildren. His wife died in 1981.
